Preparation Time 15 Minutes
4 Eggs… Hard-boiled (cut each into 2 halves)
1 Egg .. Raw (whisked)
3/4 cup… Besan (gram flour)
1/2 cup… Water.
1/4 tsp… Ajwain (carom seeds)
1/2 tsp… Ginger paste
1/2… Chilli powder
1 tsp… Hari mirch (green chillies), finely chopped
1 tbsp… Hara Dhania (coriander leaves), finely chopped
salt to taste
Oil for frying
- For the batter, mix besan with a whisked egg, add ajwain, ginger paste, garlic paste, chilli powder, hari mirchi, hara dhania and salt.
- Add ¼ cup of water and mix it well, breaking all lumps.The batter should be of coating consistency, (add remaining water only if batter is too thick.)
- Heat Oil in a Pan, dip egg halves in the batter and deep fry over medium heat, until golden brown.
- Drain excess oil on absorbent paper and serve piping hot, accompanied by mint chutney or tomato ketchup
