Ideal Mother's day gift. Bread making experience @ Gower Heritage Centre

Step back in time and join us at the Gower Heritage Centre to learn the artisan crafts of milling, boulting and bread making.

Try your hand at milling, load the hopper and watch the transformation of grain into meal, then boult and blend flour whilst learning about growing systems and maslin, ancient grains and bread.

Finally take some of that flour and turn it into dough the Medieval way….whip it! Then explore the process that takes the whipped sponge into dough that you will shape and take home with you to bake in your own home. You will also take home a bag of the flour that you milled as a further momento of your day.

Each course costs £45

A tea room is available if you wish to purchase lunch.

All you need to bring is an apron, tea towel and some baking sheets or loaf tins
