The “Festa del Risotto” returns on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November 2018 for its second edition at Cascina Merlata. The yellow risotto, main dish of the Milanese gastronomic tradition, will be the protagonist of a festival dedicated to seasonal products, with tastings, the land market with the producers of the southern agricultural park, agricultural workshops for all ages and live music.
Two days of tastings, agricultural workshops for adults and children, short-chain agricultural market, shows and live music, to discover the local traditional culture.
The event is free entry from 10.00 to 23.00 at Cascina Merlata, via Pier Paolo Pasolini 3 Milan. The event – which has the patronage of the City of Milan – is part of the program of events of Cascina Melata Partnership in collaboration with EAT Urban and PArC.
After the success of the first edition, held in November 2017, this unique event returns to Milan and is hosted in Cascina Merlata, a historic farmhouse dating back to the nineteenth century, with a large courtyard, in via Pier Paolo Pasolini 3, in Milan.
The event, free of charge, includes tasting for the whole day, from 10 to 22, the typical Lombard risotto and a poor and delicious recipe, the risotto with lemon, crescenza and rosemary: in addition to taste the risottos you can receive recipe books, practical box and trays signed by the friendly Leprotto.
Furthermore, the Confraternity of the Pot will devolve part of the proceeds of the event to social housing projects. During afternoon and evening hours there will be no lack of musical entertainment with 4 young bands selected for the deep research and knowledge of Lombard and traditional Milanese musical traditions: the Underwrites, Band Quarter Malnatt and Fatti Così.
