12 oz. of my Homemade Peach Butter (or grocery store peach preserves)
3 cups Heinz Ketchup
1 small sweet onion, rough chopped with seeds
1 jalapeno, chopped with seeds
3-4 habanero chili peppers, chopped with seeds
4 buttons garlic, minced
1-2 tblsp. olive oil
2 heaping tblsp. barbecue rub (I used Charles Vergo’s Rendezvous Famous Seasoning)
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup Tupelo honey
2 tblsp. salt
1 tblsp. black pepper
- Put onion, jalapeño, habanero chilis and garlic in a food processor and process until fine. Heat olive oil in a small saute pan until medium hot. Add onion mixture. Saute until translucent. Remove from heat.
- Meanwhile, in a stock pot over medium heat, combine ketchup and peach butter (or preserves). Cook until bubbly, then turn down to simmer. Stir in onion mixture, barbecue rub, sugar, honey, salt & pepper. Cook on simmer 20-30 minutes.
- Use on ribs, pulled pork, grilled chicken or burgers! Store in refrigerator.
